Shelley Maker Hely was born in Australia, where she resides with her husband and twins, a son and daughter. One of seven children, she grew up in a lively artistic environment. From an early age Shelley had a keen interest in art, influenced by the European ceramics and paintings that graced the walls of the family home. Shelley studied art at school and began to experiment with design and screen-printing. She went onto University and completed her Arts degree with a Major in Linguistics. Shelley has a passion for art, texture, design, and a love of words. Add this to a rich imagination and experience the sense of story, mystery and magic in her works.
