  • The image was done by Dali in 1923. It is a structuralist vision of Cadaqués. The sea and its reflections are formed by a series of impressionist brushstrokes. The two feminine figures are two women of Cadaqués with the typical green water jug on their heads. This mixture of styles shows us the work of an artist in the middle of the process of experimentation and the search for creative resources. Purist still life, from 1924, is from the same period, and shows the influence of Juan Gris. Both are usually exhibited in the Treasure Room, facing each other, so that we can see that both are structured around the rose window of the church of Cadaqués and the cubic forms of the whole, although only in the second does Dalí enter into formal investigations of purism.
