Robert Lebron was an American painter best known for his architectural landscapes that embody the aesthetic and imagery of American Impressionism. Replete with ochre-toned realism and heavy use of a palette knife, his works feature a variety of bustling city scenes with loosely rendered paint application. Born on March 13, 1928 in New York, NY, Lebron's early career was shaped by his study at the Art Students' League and his extensive world travels, particularly in Western Europe. Notably, many of Lebron's paintings feature a small dog, included as a subtle nod to childhood love of the comic Dickie Dare. The artist has shown his work internationally, holding solo exhibitions at the Galeria Studio in Madrid, as well as in Connecticut and Illinois, among other states. Lebron died on August 31, 2013.
